The 2026 Student Visionaries of the Year campaign launched with inspiration and purpose as Ayana Rasteh, CEO of Journeys To Heal, joined the kickoff meeting for the Golden Gate and Silicon Valley chapters of Blood Cancer United.

Ayana Rasteh attended the event as an Honored Hero for both the Golden Gate and Silicon Valley chapters, as well as the Junior Chair for the Silicon Valley chapter. As a blood cancer survivor, she brought a deeply personal perspective to the gathering, motivating candidates and team members as they begin their journey in the 2026 campaign.

The kickoff meeting welcomed the dedicated students participating in the Student Visionaries of the Year, a leadership development and fundraising campaign that empowers young leaders to raise awareness and critical funds to support patients, research, and advocacy efforts.

During her remarks, Ayana Rasteh shared her story of survivorship and emphasized the real-world impact the students’ work will have on the blood cancer community.

Her speech focused on the powerful connection between the students’ efforts and the outcomes that matter most: patient care, groundbreaking cancer research, and advocacy that supports both patients and their families.

She encouraged candidates to remember that every conversation, every event, and every dollar raised contributes to life-saving progress.

“Your hard work will translate directly into hope for patients and families facing blood cancers,” she shared, reminding the students that their leadership and dedication can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The energy and enthusiasm from the candidates and their teams set an exciting tone for the months ahead as the Golden Gate and Silicon Valley chapters begin the 2026 campaign.

Journeys To Heal proudly supports the mission of Blood Cancer United and applauds the student leaders who are stepping forward to make an impact in the fight against blood cancers.
